So, strapped for cash and wanting a challenge I set about making myself a 'Big Mek' for my Ork army. I wanted him to look like an Ork that wanted to emulate a Techmarine's servo-harness thing: [link]
A few spare parts, a lot of sprue and a load of plasticard later "Dr. Orktapus" was born (not an official name but he's awaiting a more Orky moniker). I was pretty pleased with how he came out so I actually spent quite a bit of time on the painting for once (my patience is not particularly great when concerning painting) and I think it's a pretty decent centrepiece for my growing warband.
In game terms he's a Big Mek with the two upper claws representing a PowerKlaw and the lower arms representing a Kombi-Shoota/Skorcha. However the lower half is magnetised and can be detached and replaced with a Kustom Force-Field (If you want to see that, along with some WiP shots of him go here: [link]
