"In the grim darkness of the far future, there is only monkeys".

A little explanation for those of you that are not down with the Warhammer 40,000 scene.

Every now and again each of the playable races in the tabletop game gets a revamp of both it's models and rules, the next in line for this is the Grey Knights (who are super elite space marines especially there to fight daemons). Their rulebook used to be known as 'Daemonhunters' but presumably Games Workshop was fed up with people mispronouncing it 'day-mon' so went with 'Grey Knights' this time around.

Anyway, in this latest update they get access to 'Jokaero Weaponsmiths' who are an alien race that have an amazing way with technology, able to create weaponry far in advance of mankind.

The Jokaero also happen to look like orang-utans, this amuses me.

The last two request pictures will follow shortly but this was something I needed to get out of my system before I drew anything else.

And yes, I am more than aware that orang-utans are apes, not monkeys.

I thought the Jokaero were fucking retarded. Hated the whole concept. But we don't always get what we want...

...But I must admit, I did find the idea of the supertech savants looking like orangutans funny as well as ironic.

I see it as the Inquisition raising these young races to make them non threats to future generations of the Imperium. The Imperium knows well that some xenos must live in order to ensure the survival and supremacy of the human race, its like the food chain, in order to be on top, they need something to stand on

Yeah, they're good monkeys up until you Roll a 1 for Jokaero modifications. Not much help then...

Awesome. Extra points for the 'SPESS' lettering on the armour.
It saddens and amuses me how the grey knights have a reputation for being demon-slaying badasses, and then Games Workhop gives them a damn cyber monkey.
