IAEIH: Seems Legit by wibblethefish IAEIH: Seems Legit by wibblethefish
I'm aware that promethium fumes are unlikely to have any great impact on a primarch but I guess there's no harm in trying.

This one has been on my to-do list for about the last month although it feels weird to do one that doesn't have the Emperor in it. I did mention that the next one would contain Horus but decided to wait off on that one for a while, although I wasn't intending these to have any firm continuity I'd prefer to do all the pre-'Horus gets stabbed with a magic sword by a fat bloke' events first, then get onto the heretical stuff.

Also, what did you guys think of the novel Fulgrim? It seems to be one of those novels that divides, people seem to either love it or hate it. For the record I quite liked it, one of the better Heresy books in my opinion.

The funny part is when you brake the daemon inside so that it would be loyal.

I loved Fulgrim. Creepy but awesome.

I enjoyed Fulgrim, thus far one of my favorite books in the Horus Heresy series - though I'm only on book 12 right now.  It's the pure arrogance of the Primarchs which lead to their downfall; their certainty that they are above the petty concerns of things like corruption that leads them to their doom.  Fulgrim sheds an interesting light on the events that occur in book 3, "Galaxy in Flames" and actually seals up some of the plot holes in that previous work.  Graham McNeill has been one of my favorite authors in the series thus far.

Should do one with the warhound/fulgrim/perturabo scene

Honestly, i almost cried reading Fulgrim, i've never experienced anything like the betrayal. Fulgrim was a pretty cool dude and it was painful seeing his downfall but knowing full well it was coming

Fulgrim is currently my favourite novel in the Horus Heresy series.

Lol nice, you do gotta wonder what was going through his head when he grabbed a magic sword
luckyducky96 Featured By Owner Apr 2, 2013
The Fulgrim Novel did have some good morsels of background and characters like Fabius Bile, Ferrus Manus, Fulgrim, the betrayal on istavaan 5 and the death of Ferrusmanus.
Although the book is like 500 pages, the last 200 are good IMO. I'd say the book is ok, but Mechanicum and a thousand sons are a lot better novels.
Clostridia Featured By Owner Mar 28, 2013
My favourite book in the series. I kept reading double entendres into pretty much everything, though. So I laughed through most of the book.
Fulgrim would be my second favourite primarch, after Magnus.

Also (though I stole this from someone else) "Hey, girls can't be space marin... Oh, hi Fulgrim."

I found this very amusing. I recently got my brother & his roomate interested in starting 40k armies & by sheer coincidence they picked Iron Hands & Emperor's Children as their armies. So we've been reading up on the lore and recently read the story of how the Primarch of the Iron Hands was killed by Fulgrim & all that.

I've just discovered these comics and I must say they are absolutely fantastic! Can't wait for the next installment!
Mandulis Featured By Owner Jan 18, 2013
It was good, there's no denying it. I still miss Garro. And Loken. Hopefully, they'll both be back soon with the first Grey Knights...
Anyway. Fulgrim seems to be turned a bit... too easely. I mean, he's a bloody Primarch damnit! At least, he regained his senses in the end...Sort of.

Sums it up quite well
And I think Fulgrim is one of the better novels in the Horus Heresy series (no surprise since it was written by Graham McNeill )
It's just sad you don't get to read much about the Iron Hands or Ferrus Manus. I hope there'll be a book about them too someday :P

Gotta love the stupidity that's Fulgrim. Corax is going to be full emo when you draw him, won't it?
wibblethefish Featured By Owner Nov 14, 2012   Digital Artist
Having just read Deliverance Lost I'm feeling oddly well disposed to him, if he ends up in one of these I'd try to avoid him looking too much like The Crow, as much as is possible at any rate.

I liked the book. But thought Fulgrim was an idiot. A thousand sons on the other hand.... genius. pure genius
wibblethefish Featured By Owner Nov 14, 2012   Digital Artist
Aye, I'd say A Thousand Sons is probably my favorite of the series.
ShadowGriken Featured By Owner Nov 15, 2012
Now I just need to convince my little brother to read that one.
Belazikkal Featured By Owner Nov 14, 2012  Hobbyist General Artist
I love the comic, but loathed the novel, for exactly the reason in the comic. Fulgrim, though vainglorious, was not dumb as a brick and that is how he comes off when picking up the sword of Laer and even more so when he listens to the voices in his head.

McNeill has had prouder moments, imho.
SpectorKnight Featured By Owner Nov 14, 2012
Seems legit. :XD:

I enjoyed the book myself, but I still think this is hilairious. :D

Loved the book, but not my favorite in the series.
These comics are great by the way, would like to see something about Garviel Loken, or Argel Tal, both are great astrates characters with actual character
wibblethefish Featured By Owner Nov 14, 2012   Digital Artist
Thanks :) I've toyed with the idea of using some of the named characters from the books but I think i'd rather stick to the broader story, which mostly revolves around the primarchs.

Saying that, I can totally see Erebus making an appearance at some point.
notchthegreat Featured By Owner Nov 14, 2012  Hobbyist Digital Artist
I kinda liked it. There were parts I didn't like but it was a good book.

Shanxara Featured By Owner Nov 13, 2012
LOL Yes, Fulgrim seems a bit dense there. Ok, very dense. :P

And I liked Fulgrim (the novel) it was very good - and yes, Angel Exterminatus is awesome. ^^
Maria-Lin Featured By Owner Nov 13, 2012
Well, it clearly demonstrates Fulgrim didn't read enough books. :P If he had, he'd have known a talking sword is a bad thing.
khaos-gurl Featured By Owner Nov 13, 2012  Hobbyist Writer
Pretty much sums up my feelings about Fulgrim's character...a tad stupid. But I loved the book personally.
