Warriors of the Unknown Chapter by wibblethefish Warriors of the Unknown Chapter by wibblethefish
Some marines I painted up a little while ago and was quite happy with, the sergeant of this squad is missing solely because he refuses to have a nice picture taken of him. They're made from what I could find scrounging around my bitz box and if I'd have had any degree of forward planning they would have had vaguely interesting basing opposed to the incredibly boring ones they have. You live and learn.

Don't have a name for this chapter yet (hence the title) but the icon in the top right is on their pauldrons and any name suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Was thinking something medieval-knight-y.

the color scheme reminds me of the steel confessors... which is an official chapter (I think GW forgot about them though)

actually it's spot on... they also had a medieval cross as their chapter symbol (with a lighting bolt in the middle)

Incidentally they are a successor chapter of the Iron Hands. But were made by the Admech in secret because they wanted their own space marine army :P

Haha, I'd never thought of that, I was probably subconsciously influenced since I've passed the full-size statue of a Steel Confessor at Warhammer World countless times.

Whispering Storms
Host of Dawn
Children of Earth
Pale Hands
Morning's Hand
First Sons
Emperor's Bastards (as backstory they're a sort of shunned legion because they have a similar code as what's-his-face from the Emperor's Children?)

The word which came to my mind seeing these was "richter", a judge. They seem like a chapter with very clear sense of right and wrong, clear rules and good, well-mannered nature. :D

I had a DOW paint scheme that looked just like this, called the Steel Paladins.

Like the paint job, by the way. Only thing I didn't like about it was that the purity seals weren't painted red, but that's a minor gripe.

That looks just awesome. :)

I love the color choices for the armor. The steely green and bone color work well together.

Would there be any chance you'd share the steps you did to make the bone areas?
